On May 30, 2026, a business promotion meeting between Qingdao and Uganda was successfully held at the China-Africa Chamber of Commerce. The Honorable Oliver Woneka, the Special Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to China, led the embassy staff to attend the event. They had in-depth exchanges with Chinese enterprise representatives from various fields such as agriculture and finance, and jointly explored the economic and trade cooperation and investment opportunities between China and Uganda.
As an enterprise with a long-standing connection with Uganda, Li Guangyu, the head of the overseas center of Qingdao Hongya Runda International Logistics Co., Ltd., was invited to attend this symposium.
At the symposium, Ambassador Oliver Wornakwa detailed the current economic and social development situation of Uganda. She stated that Uganda has abundant agricultural, tourism and mineral resources, and particularly welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and cooperate in areas such as agricultural product deep processing and advanced technologies.
The ambassador specifically mentioned that Ugandan coffee has excellent quality, but currently it mainly exports raw agricultural products. He hopes to introduce advanced processing technologies and market resources from Chinese enterprises to increase the product’s added value. Additionally, Uganda’s mineral resources and tourism industry also have broad cooperation potential. He looks forward to Chinese enterprises bringing advanced technologies to help Uganda achieve diversified economic development.
Li Guangyu introduced at the meeting that the cooperation between Hongya Rundar and Uganda began in 2023. Under the joint witness of the Uganda Coffee Industry Alliance and the Ugandan Embassy in China, the company was certified as the sole “Uganda-China Coffee Ambassador Enterprise”.
The company is committed to providing full-chain logistics and supply chain services for China-Africa trade, covering direct procurement of bulk commodities, international transportation, overseas warehousing, and the construction of digital platforms, and continuously facilitating the entry of high-quality Ugandan products into the Chinese market.
At the symposium, Li Guangyu, on behalf of the enterprise, raised several questions to the ambassador regarding issues that enterprises commonly concern, such as the investment and financing environment in Uganda and social stability. Ambassador Oliver Wornakwa answered each question patiently and emphasized that the Ugandan government is continuously optimizing the business environment to ensure the safety and legitimate rights and interests of foreign-funded enterprises in the country.
This symposium further strengthened Hongya Runda’s confidence in deepening cooperation between China and Ukraine. In the future, the company will continue to leverage its advantages in international logistics and supply chain integration to drive China-Africa economic and trade cooperation to a new level.
