On June 17th, Thomas Mwau Mutiviva, the Deputy Minister of Kenya’s Ministry of Mines, and Gregory Enzawu Kituku, the Director of the Ministry of Mines’ Licensing, Compliance and Enforcement Department, visited Qingdao Highroad International Logistics Co., Ltd. for a site visit and inspection, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s business operations and its international development achievements.

This visit took place during the 7th Transnational Corporation Leaders’ Qingdao Summit. The day before, Minister Mutiviva, at the “Gathering Momentum for Mining – Local Enterprises Going Global” international cooperation洽谈session on mineral resources at the summit, extended an invitation to Chinese enterprises to deepen cooperation in the mining sector and highly praised the geological exploration work carried out by the Chinese side in Kenya. This special visit to HRL aims to further understand the service capabilities of Chinese logistics enterprises in the African supply chain field and explore the cooperation space for the coordinated development of mining development and logistics support.

During the visit, HRL presented to the delegation the company’s global business layout and the achievements in deepening its presence in the African market. As an AAAA-level comprehensive logistics enterprise, HRL has a branch in Kenya, and its global distribution network covers 100+ countries and regions.

The delegation focused on learning about HRL ‘s logistics service capabilities in the East African region. Recently, the company successfully completed the full-chain delivery of the Kenyan electric vehicle CKD project, covering all aspects including maritime transportation, customs clearance, and inland transportation. This achievement was highly recognized by the Kenyan government and the industry, fully demonstrating its strength in overseas engineering logistics.

Minister Mutewivi expressed his appreciation for HRL ‘s business achievements in Kenya, and pointed out that Kenya is continuously improving its mining and industrial policies. He welcomed enterprises like HRL , which have international operation experience and local service capabilities, to participate in Kenya’s industrialization process and provide efficient logistics support for the mining and related industries. Director Kitukulu exchanged views with the HRL team on Kenya’s mining license compliance policies and cross-border material circulation regulatory requirements, hoping that the enterprise would continue to leverage its professional advantages to help Kenya enhance supply chain efficiency.

Both sides stated that they would take this visit as an opportunity to enhance communication and cooperation in areas such as mining logistics and new energy industry supply chains in Kenya, jointly explore mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation paths, and inject new impetus into the practical economic and trade cooperation between China and Kenya.
